We are seeking a National Sales Manager to join our Independent Channel Sales Team.  This individual will manage a team of 10 Territory Managers across the U.S. and through that team will deliver retail execution of company initiatives.  This includes ensuring excellent and consistent execution of sales fundamentals at retail (Assortment, Merchandising, Pricing, and Shelving).   This person will also be responsible for the training of Territory Managers in the field, assisting on key customer calls, and delivering U.S. indirect revenue goals.

Position Description (Responsibilities):
Lead the execution of retail fundamentals and company priorities across the U.S.
Analyze field reporting data and OTD data to plan execution and measure results.
Ensure execution of corporate go-to-market strategy and supplement as needed with account-specific programming.
Manage trade funds and conduct ROI analysis.
Create and implement new item launch plans.
Identify and develop strong working relationships across field sales, distribution, and Key Account managers across the Independent sales team.
Champion business needs for the territories and accounts within them.
Demonstrate clear ownership, leadership, and accountability.
Communicate crucial market, trade, and competitive information on a timely basis.

Position Requirements:
This position is ideal for a CPG sales professional with pet industry experience and proven coaching and mentoring skills. Our National Sales Manager will be based out of New England or the Greater Chicago area and will spend 60-80% of their time out in the field coaching their team. Other requirements include:
Bachelor¿s Degree.
10+ years of proven success and progression within the sales function in the CPG industry.
Experience managing a team of field-based sales professionals.
Strong relationship management skills, including organizational analysis and negotiating skills.
Solid MS Office skills; Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Highly analytical with a proven ability and understanding of Key Performance Indicators.
Effective control of processes and projects; detail-oriented and organized.
Customer-focused with high standards of integrity.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Energized by a fast-paced and high change environment.
