Environmental Project Manager

Position Description/Minimum Requiremnts:    Nobis is hiring a part-time remote Project Manager to join our Environmental team in based out of our Lowell, MA office to represent the company in communications with the client from initial effort, throughout the entire course of project activity, and in post-agreement marketing activities on a regular basis; communicate with the appropriate RCM and AM relative to project status and performance; and manage the project team. This position will oversee the technical performance of managed projects and provide technical support of investigation and remediation projects in all sectors of the company. They will provide technical review of environmental investigations, remedial actions, and environmental due diligence projects for a variety of environmental project types throughout New England.
Essential Functions:
Participate in client meetings, in the negotiation process and formulating the proposal, and assist in presentations;
Maintain understanding of project financial issues including project budget, terms of agreement, changes in agreement scope, billing process, and settlements.;
Monitor performance of client responsibilities and communicate deviations to the client;
Establish project goals that are consistent with contract agreements. Know fee arrangements, management system, and project schedule requirements;
Determine team staffing requirements and work with appropriate RCMs to obtain staffing needs;
Coordinate with procurement, accounting, and administrative staffs to accomplish project subcontracting, project accounting activities such as project tracking, set up, tracking, and invoicing, and report and document formatting and review; and
Supervisory responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Position Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor of Science in Geology/Environmental Engineering or a related science from a four-year college is required. Master?s degree is preferred. A minimum of 8 years relevant experience is required;
Knowledge of State of New Hampshire petroleum storage tank and contaminated site management regulations (Env-Or 300, 400, and 600), CERCLA or RCRA, hazardous waste site investigation and remediation, remedial implementation, and oversight, SAPs/HASPs/QAPPs and other planning documents, and environmental compliance;
Knowledge of hydrogeology a plus;? Licensure as a MA Professional Geologist or Engineer is highly preferred;
Experience in multiple forms of soil and groundwater remediation, remedial alternatives evaluations, and remedial action implementation, and multimedia site investigations;
Must have a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel software applications;
Must have OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification and annual 8-hour refresher, as applicable; and
Must possess a valid driver?s license, have own transportation, and be able to travel for project site visits, meetings, data collection, and training. Travel is highly dependent on project work requirements and may be extensive at times.
