Job Description
General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities :
Responsible for the provision of Core, Intensive and Training services to youth ages 17 to 24. The position, funded under the Work force Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), includes a wide variety of customer development functions, including but not limited to Outreach, Eligibility Verification, Intensive Assessment, Ongoing Case Management, Employability Development and Follow-Up Services. Liaison to Community Based partners.
Supervision Received:
Receives general supervision from the Youth Program Director who assigns and oversees work providing guidance and instruction regarding laws, regulations, rules, policies, and procedures: reviews work, assists in employee self-development, and conducts performance reviews.
Detailed Statements of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Outreach to eligible applicants through a variety of resources. Collection of WIOA mandated eligibility documentation.
- Conducts intensive needs assessment including: academic and skill level, career aptitude and interests, employability skills and barriers to education and or employment.
- Development of Individual Service Strategy based on comprehensive assessment.
- Facilitates decision making and goal setting. Identifies resolutions to barriers. Introduces opportunities linking academic and occupational learning.
- Provides ongoing case management services. Coordinates WIOA Youth services including all fourteen required service elements.
- Provides referrals to education, post-secondary training facilities and community based organizations.
- Facilitates employment opportunities including internships, summer employment and private sector employment.
- Coordinates support services including transportation, child care, work clothing, books, uniforms, etc.
- Liaison to educational facilities, community based organizations and employers in order to facilitate WIOA services and development of additional resources.
- Provide 12 months of follow up services in phase two of program to ensure education and or employment retention.
- Maintains State database (Moses) accurately and timely recording client services and progress.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BA/BS or equivalent experience
- Prior experience working with ?at risk youth? required
- Ability to work with diverse population
- Career counseling, vocational counseling and Workforce Development experience preferred
- Ability to use language that has the greatest positive impact on young people
- Outstanding verbal, written communication and organizational skills; strong computer skills
- Ability to maintain records accurately and in a timely manner
- Proficiency in database management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,628.00 - $65,052.00 per year
