Job Description

Nova Biomedical is hiring Manufacturing Engineer I to maintain the timely flow of quality Nova core instruments through Assembly and Final System Test processes into Finished Goods.  This will be accomplished by hands-on troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues as they occur. In addition, you will indentify process and documentation improvement opportunities and work with appropriate Manufacturing  Engineering personnel to implement these improvements.

More specific responsibilities will include:

- Provide electro-mechanical technical support throughout the assembly and test processes of Nova core instruments and subassemblies.      - Provide analyzer technical system support by troubleshooting and resolving performance failures in Final System Test of our core analyzers.
- Design tools and fixtures and perform IQ OQ?s.
- Identify errors in assembly and test documentation used in the building and testing of all subassemblies/systems and champion their resolution.
- Work with other Manufacturing Engineers to implement documentation corrections and improvments.
- Disposition rejected materials (determining whether to scrap, return to supplier, rework, etc.), for mechanical, plastic components, labels, etc., related to Nova core instrument product lines.
- Disposition Quality Reporting Forms (QRF?s) for Nova core instruments and sub-assemblies.
- Coordinate with Product Development during design phase to promote design for assembly


Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Biomechanical Engineering is required or 10 years of relevant experience documenting, building, troubleshooting, and repairing complex laboratory analyzers or similar equipment.
- A strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot electromechanical devices to determine the root cause of system failures.
- A fundamental understanding of electronics and electromechanical components and assemblies such as stepper motors, solenoids, linear actuators etc.
- A functional competence in Solidworks is a plus.
