CNC SEt up Operator
Hours:
1st Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm
2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:15pm-2:45am
Pay Rate: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on experience, *10% shift differential paid for 2nd shift
Essential Functions
o Receive traveler from the CNC Production Lead, gather tool kit, download the correct program to the machine, set-up the designated machine, and run first piece for Quality Assurance (QA) approval
o Set up machine in a sound and proficient manner according to Layout Sheet provided
o Ensure a DPPM of less than 1,250 for you and your operators
o Keep a tidy and organized work area
Production
o Receive traveler from the CNC Production Lead, gather tool kit, download the correct program to the machine, set-up the designated machine, and run first piece for Quality Assurance (?QA?) approval
o Determine when inserts need to be changed
o Change inserts and various tooling in a timely fashion with no supervision
o Follow verbal instruction
o Have a firm understanding of hand tools
o Evaluate any unusual sights or sounds and report to the CNC Production Lead if you cannot eradicate
o Fundamental understanding of controls on various machines
Quality
o Ability to use basic measuring tools (Micrometers, Verniers, drop indicators, plug gages, ring gages, pin gages, and thread gages)
o Follow established quality policies
o Accurately fill in data for the QA Sheet and verify completeness based on part print
o Accurately report the number of good parts made per shift as well as scrap per shift
o Identify and resolve product defects
o Report defects to the CNC Production Lead
Maintenance
o Clean or replace screens, traps, and filters when necessary
o Remove chips from the machine
o Wipe down machines, mop work area, and report machine leaks to your supervisor
o Follow good housekeeping and take proper care of equipment and tooling
o Remove bar remnants
o Ability to disassemble, clean, and reassemble guide bushings, collets and sub spindle components
o Check machine oil levels (cutting fluids, way lube, and bar feeder oil)
o Troubleshoot bar feeder issues that may arise

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience
o High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
o CNC Machining experience required, setup experience preferred
