Adult Companion
Job Type: Part-time/20 hours
Job Location: North Adams, MA
$15.00/hour

Position Highlights:
UCP of Western Massachusetts is hiring! The Adult Companion staff provides non-medical care, supervision, and socialization to a functionally impaired adult. They may assist or supervise the participant with such tasks as meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, shopping and activities to enhance quality of life. This service is provided in accordance with a therapeutic goal in the service plan. The Adult Companion's role is designed to give caregiving family members a break, evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
A high school diploma, or have life or work experience with individuals with disabilities
Be able to handle emergency situations
Understanding of the importance of supporting the dignity and human rights of all members
Appropriate communication skills to effectively communicate with members, parents and professionals
Ability to work flexible hours in order to accommodate the needs of members
Driver's license and availability of a private insured vehicle
CORI, SORI and National Fingerprint Check
A negative Mantoux TB test or a clear chest x-ray
