Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our Precision Optics team in Westford, MA. The Manufacturing Technician will be exposed to day-to-day operations with PVD technology, front and back-end manufacturing, and specialty manufacturing cells. Ideal candidates must possess a strong mechanical aptitude, be a reliable team member and have a passion for safety and learning new skills. The position also requires the ability to adapt to competing priorities, operate independently and within a team environment, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Follow procedures in operating production equipment and performing processing steps;
accurately complete production documentation.
- Identify escalate and document events that deviate from the normal operation; participate in
investigations.
- Operate within designated departments / train others as necessary.
- Perform semi-routine equipment maintenance and upkeep
- Work with process engineers to improve process(es) as requested.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, equipment and areas where substrates
and chemicals are prepared or stored
- Record yields, efficiencies and all other data
- Ensure that training is current and documented
- Detect and report improper operation and/or faulty equipment, defective materials and when a
process is not within its parameters
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
- Clean room experience preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work out of Westford, MA site and Tyngsboro, MA site as needed.
- This is a first shift position.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration. For individuals to be considered for a security clearance, the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), conducts personnel security background investigations for the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on Materion's determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with Materion's business requirements.
