Job Description
Nova Biomedical is hiring a Mechanical Inspector III at our Enterprise Road, Billerica, MA facility (Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM). As a senior level Mechanical Inspector one will perform metrology inspections using CMM, OGP Smartscopes and other precision inspection equipment to perform first article inspections and incoming inspections based on AQL levels. The Mechanical Inspector III shall have an understanding of how the inspection equipment is programmed and functions. This role will also assist with equipment training and inspection technique when required. The Mechanical Inspector III must posses the ability to work with other departments, such as our machine shop, molding shop, and Engineering to determine proper drawing dimensioning for components and assemblies. Other responsibilities include:
- Responsible for programming and set-up of various inspection equipment.
- Perform complex, precision measurements on machined and molded components.
- Assist with department training on measurement equipment and technique
- Creation of non-conforming material reports (NCMR) when necessary
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be able to work independently and with teams.
- Minimally, but on occasion travel to our other local facility Incoming Inspection Departments
may be necessary.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years' experience in a mechanical inspection field
- Must be able to work independently as well as with department staff, Engineering, R&D,
Machine Shop, Molding Shop and Supplier Quality on projects and component issues.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic computer skills. SAP is a plus.
- Proficient with the programming and use of CMM, OGP, and hand operated measurement
equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Good interpersonal skills.
- Must have ability to train department members to further their education level in metrology
Education/Experience:
- 6+ years experience in the mechanical inspection field
- Education cannot replace work experience
