Job Description
Nova Biomedical is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer I - Chemistry in our Waltham, MA facility to provide technical floor support manufacturing operations to ensure on-time shipments of high-quality products at an acceptable cost. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work on process/product improvements and transfer of new products/processes into the manufacturing operations. You will also contribute to the investigation
of technical issues with in-process or field returned product to ensure continuous improvement. More specific responsibilities will include: Support the transfer of new processes and products to manufacturing working with other engineers as well as creating/maintaining project schedules, roviding project status reports, presentations of concerns/accomplishments to team. Create and/or execute Installation Qualifications (IQ), Operational Qualifications (OQ), Performance Qualifications (PQ), Validations, Design of Experiment (DOE), Process Failure Mode Effects. Analysis (PFMEA) and Continuous Improvement Studies/Evaluations. Coordinate activities to pilot new formulations and products. Create or update/enhance manufacturing documentation (AP, TP, OI, OP, Artwork, and Drawings), which conform to Quality System Regulations (QSR's) and ISO Standards.
Conduct training of employees on new products, equipment, and processes. Support technical floor issues to resolve in a timely and efficient manner.
Researching and finalizing specifications for capital equipment as well as supplier quote comparison and ROI analysis. Contribute to continuous improvement programs to reduce cost and cycle times of products. Review and implementation of lean manufacturing techniques. Qualifications:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Minitab, SAP, and Master Control a plus. Experience with the procurement and validation of high-cost capital equipment a plus. Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and practices. Moderate understanding of formulation and tonometry. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Time and risk management skills. FDA QSR's and ISO regulations competence
Education/Experience: B.S./B.A. in Biology, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering is required. 1+ years of experience is desired.
