Job Description
Role Purpose:
Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties:
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with
management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Selects products for tests at specified stages in the production process, and tests products for
a variety of qualities such as visual inspection, dimensions, performance, mechanical, and
electrical.
- Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
- Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum
quality within limits of equipment capability.
- Prepares graphs or charts of data, enters data into computer for analysis.
- Maintenance of quality assurance gage and test equipment calibration system and database.
- Dimensional inspection using hand tools, surface place, micrometers, dial and digital calipers,
gage pins, height gage etc.
- inspection under microscope.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Physical Demands: sitting for long periods of time. Using a microscope
Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Ability to speak effectively before a group of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree ( GED )
- 2 years minimum experience in the quality assurance industry
- Computer skills related to Excel spreadsheets and graphs relative to statistical analysis
