Job Summary
Responsible for providing Quality Assurance planning and leadership by identifying critical quality elements and bringing together the groups required to establish preventative measures to ensure product quality. Develops and monitors procedures, corrective actions, and process verification. Assures consistent product and production quality by validating process systems while creating and maintaining a well-documented system. A successful quality assurance manager will be well organized, able to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and excel in communicating with internal and external customers.
Summary of essential job functions and responsibilities
- Thorough knowledge of Quality Assurance standards, practices, and methodologies, including
APQP, IMDS, and PPAP.
- Achieves Quality Assurance objectives by implementing production, product, and inspection
systems to establish quality objectives throughout manufacturing.
- Determines product specifications and attributes and implements control requirements that
are critical to product quality.
- Validates process and product control by establishing specifications and quality attributes,
determining product acceptance criteria, and measuring product outcome.
- Implements statistical methods and analysis to understand and use the data to drive quality
control.
- Performs root cause analysis on products outside specifications and determines solutions to
ensure satisfactory corrective measures.
- Clarifies and ensures compliance with Customer Specific Requirements (CSR)
- Works with Manufacturing and Process Engineering to improve current processes using
Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
- Implements and maintains a system by which the finished product's color accuracy is visually
acceptable and reliably correct to a known value/scale.
- Owner of all quality related accreditations (ISO-9001; MED/MER, etc.); leader of Internal and
External Audit activities.
- Manages the Nonconforming Material (NCM) process.
- Ensures Control of Change procedure is defined, updated, and followed.
- Control and supervise timely and accurate data entry for all services performed.
- Ability to communicate and execute policies and procedures.
- Ensure internal and external customer needs are met daily.
- Helps determine product quality suitability for use.
- Publishes loss reports (in-process and inspection)
- Oversees supplier quality improvement (including on-site audits)
- Identify and promote continuous improvement projects
- Observe all safety, PPE, and quality procedures while completing required tasks.
- Provide customer service with support.
- Enforce all company rules and regulations.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- A bachelor?s degree in a relatable field.
- Ten years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a previous management role.
- Five plus years of relatable quality experience.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and databases.
- Proven abilities in color science, measurement scale, software systems, and color adaptation.
- Strong leadership, management, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A combination of education and experience may meet the above requirements.
Required Skills or Abilities
- Computer knowledge (MS Office) and ability to learn various software programs and
applications.
- Working knowledge of statistical data collection and analysis.
- Strong ability to provide written product specifications.
- Strong familiarity with test procedures and the creation thereof.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving
abilities.
