Job Description


Job Summary
This exempt position involves overseeing the daily operations of a Distribution Center to ensure successful and efficient delivery of newspapers and other products. The role focuses on managing staff, maintaining operations, achieving customer service and financial goals, and ensuring compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities
-    Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment at the Distribution Center.
-    Manage daily operations and supervise Distribution Center staff.
-    Oversee the printing, review, and distribution of route paperwork and communications.
-    Supervise unloading of delivery trucks, verify accurate receipt of products, and ensure proper
     distribution to Delivery Service Providers (DSPs).
-    Address delivery complaints and requests, maintaining daily communication with DSPs.
-    Securely manage Distribution Center files, including subscriber accounts and street directories.
-    Understand and manage DSP agreements to ensure service quality and compliance.
-    Conduct route restructuring to optimize delivery service while maintaining cost-efficiency.
-    Ensure every subscriber receives their product on time and in good condition.
-    Directly handle subscriber inquiries and resolve delivery issues.
-    Assist in recruiting, training, and onboarding new staff, including conducting performance
     check-ins.
-    Implement procedures to meet customer service standards and enhance operational
     efficiency.
-    Oversee weekly route settlements and ensure proper payments to DSPs.

Qualifications
-    Strong leadership skills with a focus on driving results, team-building, and time management.
-    Ability to manage operations, make timely decisions, and resolve conflicts.
-    Experience in recruiting, training, and developing staff in a distribution environment.
-    Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel), RouteSmart, SAP, and e-time applications.
-    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
-    Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
-    Strong customer service orientation, ensuring delivery accuracy and satisfaction.
-    Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and insurance.

Physical Requirements
-    Ability to lift heavy items (30-50 lbs), operate an automobile, and perform field inspections.
-    Capable of working in a warehouse environment and handling deliveries in various conditions.
-    Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, and meet attendance standards.

Education and Experience
-    Requires 2-5 years of related work experience.
-    High School diploma required, Associate/Bachelor degree preferred.
-    Material Handling Equipment certification is a plus.
