* Provide a direct link between the business community and the talent pool of area job seekers, ensuring a job driven milieu and the satisfaction of business talent acquisition needs.
* Establish a close working partnership with the businesses and public, private and educational institutions in the greater Brockton area. This will occur both as individual partnerships and a broader engagement strategy of engaging industry sectors.
*Implement Recruitment Solutions Initiative policies and procedures with respect to fulfillment of business needs by developing the pool of qualified job seekers and matching them to the opportunities.
* Visit businesses and provide information and technical assistance on programs available to them and assist with implementation as appropriate. These programs include talent acquisition and training (job postings, recruitments, on-the-job trainings), Workforce Training Fund, Safety Grants, the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, Trade Assistance Act, Workshare, and Rapid Response services.
* Maintain all pertinent information on businesses, and the types of jobs they offer. Provides re-employment services to customers in groups and individually, generates referrals to other agencies, work closely with other staff to ensure smooth delivery of comprehensive services and activities.
* Ensure employment and other opportunities offered by area businesses are available to job seekers, and that the broadest possible talent pool is established for each position. Both directly and through Career Specialists and partnering agency direct service staff, the Business Services Representative will assist customers in accessing job search information utilizing all available media.
* Conduct technical assistance and specialized workshops, both to businesses and job seekers.
* Provide qualitative feedback to Center staff about business needs and gaps in training/skill development that they gather to supplement the quantitative LMI data available through the MasssHire Greater Brockton Workforce Board and other database resources. By ensuring the voice of the business is heard when making programmatic and operational decisions, this position plays a key role in ensuring the Center is demand driven.
* Conduct job development, identifying potential job opportunities based on job seeker talent pool.
* Conduct extensive on-site outreach to area businesses to ensure they understand the opportunities and programs available to them through partnering with the MassHire Greater Brockton Career Center and the Business Services unit. Use these visits to create or build on collaborative partnerships with the business community.
* Act as a conduit for businesses who are seeking talent. In this role the Business Services Representative will partner with the business to assess their needs and create a carefully crafted job-order. This job order is shared electronically with the entire team. To ensure a sufficient number of quality referrals, the Business Services Representative will regularly meet with Career Specialists and direct service staff from partnering agencies to further clarify the businesses' needs and to assess and refer the available talent pool.
* Maximize Business Services Unit efficiency by evaluating employment opportunities and providing MassHire Greater Brockton Career Center Business Services resources through tiered levels of service. This system ensures that all businesses and employment opportunities receive their due attention from the MassHire Greater Brockton Career Center, but that the most resource intensive interventions are reserved for those opportunities likely to make the largest impact on established performance outcomes. (e.g. opportunities with higher wage rates, full time employment, permanent positions, availability of benefits etc.).
