Job Summary: Instructs HOPE Job Readiness participants in all phases of the Skills Course Curriculum including, but not limited, to teaching Microsoft Office Suite and Soft Skills. In conjunction with staff members, perform instruction, and reporting requirements as specified by HOPE supervisory staff. Due to contractual and programmatic changes that may occur at the HOPE, instructor requirements may be modified according to program and student needs.
Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide instruction in a systematic as well as creative and challenging way. Classes will be conducted for trainees in theory, concepts and applications of Job Readiness & Development Skills. For example: the successful candidate must assist students in the writing of resumes and cover letters taking into account each student?s individual employment plans.
Deliver quality training in an effective and efficient manner. Evaluate outcomes of training sessions and maintain records of Trainees? progress. Contribute to curriculum development attuned to learning level objectives. Using PowerPoint Presentations as well as computer training.
Accepts all other assignments which help HOPE realize contractual goals.
Travel to all campuses and locations as needed.
Other duties as assigned by unit supervisor and HOPE administration.
At all times exercise professionalism and confidentiality with staff and students.
Participate in the general center activities including personal development, program planning, and organization related events.
Relevant Instructional Experience, Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree. Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office application/products.
Microsoft Office Specialist, Microsoft Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Trainer Certification. Excellent knowledge of training methods and best practices for end-user training on application software, experience teaching adults required. Excellent communication skills. Strong computer, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Prior experience with underserved populations a plus. Possess innovative thinking with a passion for human services; engaging in delivery of varied content demonstrating an ability to teach and use techniques to a diverse/cross generational population
Exceptional presentations skills with ability to speak clearly and effectively to small/large audiences in a professional and punctual demeanor.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Staff serving fewer than 15 hours weekly are invited to attend special events other than fundraisers; e.g. events and Volunteer Recognition Functions. Staff serving 15 or more hours weekly is expected to attend.
HOPE promotes continuing Education. Such Education allows the employee the knowledge required to improve their performance and to obtain additional training and skills necessary for career development. Therefore, it is expected that employees will attend any educational sessions, seminars, or courses as requested.
