Position Summary:
The Marketing and Design Associate assists the Marketing and Brand Manager to market and maintain the Museum's brand identity through all mediums: publications, the press, broadcasts, social media, the museum website, and in-house materials including wayfinding and promotional signage. As the museum's social media voice, the marketing and design associate plays a key role in the museum's work to make the museum accessible and welcoming to all.

This position is temporarily work from home, with frequent trips to the museum to complete on-site duties. This position will be on-site beginning July 2021.

Primary Functions and Major Responsibilities:
Work with the Marketing and Brand Manager to effectively communicate with the various audiences that comprise the Museum's constituencies, and maintain a strong, recognizable, engaging brand.

Duties include:
- Manage the museum's social media accounts and maintain a social calendar filled with daily posts to continue to build a social community and drive attendance to exhibitions and programs, in keeping with the museum's brand identity and voice
- Stay current with social media trends and innovations to incorporate them as appropriate
- Recommend new approaches to utilize digital media to meet marketing and communication goals
- Design and produce printed and web materials as assigned, including museum signage, event invitations, newsletters, social media and website graphics, email newsletters and more
- Produce signage materials using the museum's large format printer as needed
- Create and distribute weekly e-blasts
- Maintain the museum's website by creating content (graphics, video, and text) and adding and updating events and pages
- Collaborate with the digital content team to upload and promote weekly educational content at explore.berkshiremuseum.org
- Fulfill photography needs of the Museum by taking photographs at events and openings as assigned and maintain the museum's marketing photo database
- Other duties as required

Qualifications:
Prior experience in marketing/communications and/or graphic design
Firm understanding of marketing principles and design basics
Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other online platforms
Working knowledge of WordPress or similar CMS, Photoshop, Word, InDesign - video editing skills a plus
Ability to communicate and collaborate with all departments and teams
Ability to self-motivate and work independently
Highly organized and meticulous, staying on top of key deadlines and program and exhibition timelines
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, and easily accept other duties and tasks as assigned.
