Description

Perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties that support and assist MHA's Human Resources Department, including such areas as benefits, training, worker's compensation, etc.

Requirements

Essential Functions

Receive visitors and telephone calls to HR Department, providing information regarding departmental functions that may require the use of judgment, tact and sensitivity and the interrelation of policies, rules and procedures; skillfully handle inquiries; research and respond to requests or refer questions and requests to other staff when warranted.
Organize and maintain comprehensive Human Resources Department files and systems, i.e. personnel, medical, benefit, workers compensation, and training, automated or manual. Files are complete and up-to-date; information is easily located in files; remove and archive inactive records or files.
Prepare HR-related forms and documents including but not limited to all new hire paperwork, benefit packets and training materials. Order brochures and booklets to ensure adequate availability of supplies.
Meet with new employees as needed to review benefit forms, and information. During new hire orientations, assist with selecting benefits through employee portal, back up to photograph employees and print ID badges, and assist with scheduling mandatory training. Track and distribute orientation checklists/forms to supervisors.
Assist with paperwork for enrollments and terminations associated with group benefit plans and programs, as well as the processing of status change forms associated with those changes.
Track dates of benefits eligibility for new and existing employees. Schedule and conduct timely benefits orientations, as needed.
Serve as administrative support for all HR staff. Perform various other clerical duties as assigned. Report on progress/status of above information, as required.

Qualifications

Duties require strong interpersonal communication skills
Visual acuity to written and computer screen data
Attention to detail and manual coordination and dexterity in the operation of office equipment.
Must possess and demonstrate excellent computer and organizational skills, capable of working independently in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge of a variety of office procedures; full use of office equipment. High School diploma or equivalent plus additional specialized training.
1-2 years of clerical/administrative experience, preferably in an HR environment.

Pay: $14-$15 per hour
