Grant Writer - Per Diem

We're searching for a Per Diem Grant Writer. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the growth and development of a multi-faceted mission driven organization that is committed to supporting individuals and communities with significant social and health disparities capacity to thrive and achieve well-being. Gandara?s administrative offices are located in West Springfield, MA with programs located in Boston, Brockton, Fitchburg, Holyoke, and New Bedford.

Grant Writer Responsibilities:

To write grants.
To identify grant opportunities (federal, state and private foundations).
To establish on going relationships with funding sources.
To provide grant writing capacity building opportunities for senior and program managers.
Develop and manage work plans for grant completion.
Work closely with the Grant Development and Management team to identify, prepare and submit competitive responses on time, to funding opportunities.
Support research, model design, and gather information from administrative or program staff through interviews and other means about specific sufficient to prepare a competitive response.
As appropriate, research grant-making organizations, and assist in developing and maintaining relationships funders as needed.
Utilize database to track funder prospects, profiles, and interaction; and create calendar of grant application deadlines.
Support the development and procurement of MOU agreements.
Collaborate with the agency's Fiscal, HR, EHR and Program Departments as required to support the development of grants, as required.

Required Skills
Grant Writer Qualifications

Excellent expository writing, research, and organization skills.
BA/BS from accredited college or university in pertinent subject matter (Public Health, Social Work, Public Administration, Behavioral Health or Social Sciences) or pertinent skills (Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or English); or minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience. Graduate Degree, a plus.
Minimum 5 years of experience with writing grants across multiple funding sectors for a variety of population types is preferred.
Knowledge of Funding requirements
Experience with multi-million dollar grants as well as state wide
Extensive experience with EOHHS funded agencies, federal funds (i.e., SAMSHA, Health and Human Services
Cultural Sensitivity and Competence are important success factors
Familiarity with social/behavioral health services,
Facility with key computer programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience in quantitative data analysis and presentation would be highly welcome.
Initiative, attention to detail, and reliability in a deadline-driven environment.
Ability to thrive in a team environment.
