BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for analyzing plastic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, and chemical structure, using a variety of instrumental and wet methods of analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform chemical analysis of plastic compounds and maintain appropriate records of the same.
Compile and analyze experimental data for TGA, DSC, FT-IR, GC/MS
Write technical reports detailing completed analyses and conclusions
Maintain laboratory instruments in proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions as needed.
Maintain the laboratory in a neat and organized manner
Adhere to and promote all company initiatives related to safety and quality
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Position has no responsibility or authority for the direction of others.
Position has no budget or revenue responsibilities.
SKILLS

Understanding of basic instrumentation, analytical methods, and general laboratory techniques
Good oral and written communication skills
Good computer skills
Ability to work effectively in a team focused environment
On a daily basis, must be able to resolve issues using analytical techniques and provide conclusions based on sound data analysis.
