Company in Billerica is looking for a Quality Inspector

This is a full time position

This role is responsible for supporting incoming inspection, in-process and final inspection activity.  In addition, this position will serve as a backup, after training, for incoming inspection.  This person will own the Calibration database, insuring an unremarkable record with respect to instances of "out of calibration" equipment on the production floor.
As a member of the Quality Department, they will work towards disruption elimination for both the employee and customer perspective in support of the goal to "Satisfy Every Customer, Every Time".  They will monitor and report performance against established milestones and KPI's. They will work across departments to achieve stated objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
-Working to and following controlled procedures and documents
-Performing in process and final inspections and complete associated paperwork including both Unit History files and product certifications / traceability.
-Maintaining the serial number logs and database
-Tracking and assembling material certificates for certificate packages.
-Filling customer requests for product certificates as required
-Authoring Quality Notifications as needed.
-Perform MDG Enrichment tasks
-Assisting in the tracking of nonconforming product and verify effective corrective action.
-Using standard Root Cause analysis tools (SPC, Fishbone, 5 Why's etc.) to help resolve MRB high flyers and drive continuous improvement activities within Production
-Performing ISO Audits as directed.
-Assisting in Quality Team Training

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Trade school or community college courses in mechanical inspection or a related field; or a combination of education and experience
-Five plus (5+) years experience inspecting electronic and mechanical parts, components, and assemblies.
-Must be able to read and interpret blue prints and have a working knowledge of GD&T
-Must be able to select and use appropriate measurement tools with a working understanding of the fundamentals of precision measurement.
-Able to apply the fundamental statistical methods for process control.
-Communication skills: effective written communication skills necessary to complete various quality documents.
-Communication skills: effective verbal communication with coworkers, engineering and management.
-Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or GMP regulations
-Proficient with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
