Job Description

A local Charter School is looking for a part time After School Program Coordinator.
Hours are 2:30-6:30pm Monday-Fridays (1-6:30pm some Wednesdays)
10 Month(August-June) position

The Extended Day Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the after school program, including overall program design, philosophy, and daily operation. Program will start the last week of August and end in June, on the last day of school. Competitive salary based on experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and lead all aspects of the after-school program, including overall program design, philosophy, and daily operation.
Manage the recruitment, training, supervision and retention of program staff.
Develop policies and procedures and guidelines with respect to school age care programs and continually evaluate the program.
Manage daily email correspondence and communications with families.
Work collaboratively with families and the community to enhance opportunities that will benefit the children and the members of the community.
Collaborate with regular school day staff to ensure continuity of purpose and care.
Provide oversight of the successful implementation of diverse and creative, age-appropriate, curricula and activities through the recruitment, hiring and supervision of staff.
Manage staff and staff scheduling in an efficient manner.
Provide daily supervision including staff interaction with students giving hands-on assistance whenever necessary.
Procure substitutes when needed.
Establish and uphold consistent, fair conduct standards for the children, which include appropriate disciplinary consequences.
Communicate any special medical, dietary, or personal issues of students to staff and ensure that these needs are accommodated in a confidential manner.
Maintain attendance and enrollment.
Establish effective emergency communications procedures and ensure that staff members are trained accordingly.
Maintain the Program web page with up-to-date information.
Work closely with building principals, school nurses, school leadership, and other relevant personnel.
Accommodate the special needs of children in a sensitive manner.
Maintain and organize files.
Participate in parent open houses and schoolwide events.
Implement sanitary, health, emergency, and safety regulations.
Provide a safe, nurturing environment.
Write reports
Lead meetings and presentations, conduct Q and A.
Perform other related duties as requested or assigned by the Administrative Principal or Executive Director.
Supervises and evaluates all Extended Day Program employees. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 2-3 years in an administrative position including program management and staff supervision.
Proficient in Technology: Microsoft Word, Excel, Google docs, financial software, and daily E-mail correspondence.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in child focused organizations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
CPR/First Aid Certification required (or to be obtained).
