Job Description

MassHire Lowell Career Center Is currently looking for a Material- Planner Buyer for a well-known company in the Greater Lowell Area.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for planning, issuing, and tracking production work orders and required materials to ensure adherence to production schedules and on time customer delivery. This position will also be responsible for all non?stock purchasing relating to shop floor, office supplies and shipping, as well as inventory management of purchased finished goods and all corrugated packaging materials.  Additional responsibilities include expediting and prioritization of purchase orders and supporting the production teams, including maintaining close vendor communication, pricing, and relations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND JOB EXPECTATIONS:

Daily:
- Work Order / Converting / all facets; creation to close
- Purchase order entry / tracking / follow up
- Core and carton / corrugated packaging material inventory monitoring and reporting / including Ayer & NHPT stock
- Roll label / box label inventory monitoring and reporting
- Non-stock purchasing (managed) including, but not limited to office supplies, shop floor label printer ribbon, squeegees
- Non-stock purchasing (requisitioned) / Coating & Converting supplies (silicone spray, wax rings, Clysar film, etc.), Shipping supplies (pallets, corner boards, shrink wrap, etc.), Services (JP Rivard, UL, etc.)
- Support for Customer Service order split requests
- Shipping support / container load configuration / documentation, transfer shipments, JDE support

Weekly:
- Purchased Finished Goods monitoring and reporting (includes imported materials)
- Management of stock Electrical product at CA warehouse, including requests for new material
- New Balance Label management

Monthly:
- Adhesive and Chemicals /cycle counts
- Other materials as assigned (Finished Goods) / cycle counts

As Required:
- Debit Memos / SCAR/RMA returns / packaging / corrugated / non-stock
- Vendor relations / negotiations / research and price comparisons
- Coordinate proper disposal of write-off materials
- Printing plate management / purchase order processing
- Shop-floor entry support / Converting / no after hours
- Entering / processing of stock transfer orders to outside stocking warehouse locations
- Reclass of materials
- Semi-Annual inventory preparation

Key Metrics:
- Personal Safety, Inventory Accuracy, Work-Order Reliability, Compliance, Plant Downtime /
Materials, In-bound on time to schedule (VMI / Just In Time deliveries)

Required Skills:
- Experience working directly with suppliers and vendors
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Skilled in compiling, organizing, and presenting information concisely
- Effective troubleshooting, problem solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and attention to detail
- Resourcefulness, independence / self-direction, ability to make sound recommendations based on analysis of data
- Ability to work in a /TEAM/ environment
- Pursue continuing education and/or certification (Associate+ / APICS)
