Position Description & Responsibilities
The Organization is seeking a creative, collaborative Program Director to oversee the launch of our Youth Innovation Hub and the associated emerging programs, as well as coordinating with other team members to manage our range of programs and initiatives that involve college/career readiness, STEAM programs, the arts, and creative placemaking. The Program Director will be skilled in managing community partnerships, overseeing project timelines, and working collaboratively with colleagues, student interns, teachers and organizational partners.
Y-Hub Launch & Management: Approximately 50% of time
Work with Executive Director and Y-Hub Project Consultant to support build out and launch of space and programming at Y-Hub;
Maintain Y-Hub Program Calendar;
Support Network Manager in growing partnerships to support Y-Hub programs;
Engage other staff and community members in developing and implementing Y-Hub programs;
Support relevant grant language and reporting for Y-Hub programs;
Work with Operations Manager to ensure maintenance and oversight of Y-Hub space;
Track program results and document student engagement and activities for funders and internal goals;
Program Management and Oversight: Approximately 50% of time
Develop and execute an annual program plan and calendar in partnership with Executive Director and with support of other staff and community partners;
Support relevant information and language for grants and grant reports to support and expand programming efforts for key initiatives, such as ArtUp Lowell, Girls Who Code, IDEA Camp, Career Pathways, Early College;
Support the Program Assistant, STEM Advisor, and other Program staff and community partners in their roles in program development and support;
Implement and utilize comprehensive program evaluation tools;
Oversee all aspects of organizational programming, including evaluation and reporting of outcomes.
The Program Director will be thoroughly committed to Project LEARN?s mission. All candidates should have strong communications, project coordination, and community engagement experience. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in education, nonprofit management, or communications preferred; Master?s degree in education preferred.
Track record of effective program development and design, and unwavering commitment to quality programs;
Past success working with collaborative projects with the ability to manage programs, budgets, and stakeholder relationships;
Experience in grant writing, reporting and managing program evaluations preferred;
Experience in managing fellow staff reports;
Experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Persuasive communication with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills;
Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to project planning;
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people;
Optimism, passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed;
Preference given for Bi-lingual candidates who speak Spanish, Khmer, or Portuguese.
