Billerica company is looking for a Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of the design of component and assembly modeling and detail drawing creation of products using 3D CAD tools.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Work with Product Engineering to create 3D model based definition files (MBD) and 2D drawings.
Supports and develops designs for new products and/or prototypes. Demonstrates clear ownership of tasks and projects and coordinates efforts of others to ensure completion and satisfy business needs.
Work with the Product Engineers to understand the scope of work, schedule, and project needs to determine intent and content of each drawing.
Ensures results are clear, on target and customer focused. Delivers work with high level of quality and accuracy.
Execute Engineering Changes (EC?s) for Nuvera?s products.
Minimal guidance on reviewing drawings for layout, completeness, accuracy, constructability and adherence to internal design/drafting standards. Ensures results are clear, on target and customer focused. Delivers work with high level of quality and accuracy.
Maintain structured bills of material and parts lists for assemblies and maintain the Product Record in Nuvera?s PLM database.
Mentors new employees on Nuvera standards and processes.

Required Job Qualifications (unless otherwise noted):

Educational Background
2 years technical school in Design/Drafting or Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Previous Work Experience
4+ years work experience on 3D parametric CAD with a focus on detailed documentation

Skills and Abilities
Proficiency with 3D solid modeling and corresponding creation of 2D drawings preferably using SolidWorks
Demonstrated comprehension of Configuration Management principles, including document control, product-line architectures and managing product families.
Experience with Design for Cost/Assembly/Manufacturability/Performance
Experience using Geometric Dimensions and Tolerance (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) preferably using ARAS
Creative problem solving/troubleshooting skills and ability to think objectively
Experience working both independently and in team contexts, comfort with a rapid development pace and capability to multitask
Demonstrates effective use of multiple communication techniques to all levels

Travel Required
Minimal, possibly for industry conferences/seminars

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Office environment, 90+% of job duties will involve executing tasks on a personal computer though occasional trips to lab facility or shop floor may be necessary
