SECTION 2 - POSITION DESCRIPTION
Nobis Group has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager in our Geotechnical Department to support transportation, state/municipal and commercial projects throughout the northeastern United States. We are looking for a candidate that has between 5 to 10+ years of experience. This individual will perform a broad range of project and office-related tasks serving as a senior group leader, you will be tasked with mentoring, leading, and training younger staff along with managing and wide range of geotechnical projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading staff, business development, and geotechnical project management.
SECTION 3 - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who will be expected to effectively lead team members and others to execute assignments, maintain existing client relationships and generate new client relationships with minimal direction and support required. Managerial assignments include project management, leading and mentoring less experienced staff members, networking, nurturing client relationships and new business development. Technical responsibilities will include the preparation of geotechnical reports, preparation and review of calculations, and the capability to us and interpret computer software results. An understanding of Microsoft Office, computer-aided design and drafting (AutoCAD), and typical geotechnical software such as boring log entry, slope-stability, and finite element analyses is essential to be successful in this position, along with good communication skills and writing skills. We also encourage our employees to participate in professional organizations and become involved in community outreach.
SECTION 4 - EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will have a BS from an accredited four-year college or university in Civil Engineering.
MS degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical specialization) is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant Geotechnical Engineering experience and registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) i
n Massachusetts or the ability to obtain the PE within 6 months is required.
OSHA?s 40-hour HAZWOPER (with current 8-hour refresher as necessary) training is a plus.
A valid driver?s license, reliable vehicle and proof of automobile insurance is required for this position.
