Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
ABI Tape Division is looking for an experienced Plant Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Lowell, MA site while improving the focus on our customers, the development of our employees and our overall reliability in meeting our commitments to financial performance.  You will manage scheduling, oversee daily operating reports, and increase production by providing leadership and developing strategic plans. This role requires a leader with a proven track record of effectively developing and leading positive change resulting in improved P&L performance.

DIRECT REPORTS: Production Control Manager, Quality Manager, Safety Manager, Maintenance Manager, dotted line to Plant Accountant and HR Generalist

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Manufacturing improvement strategies; Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing
- Understanding of financial management; direct and indirect on P&L
- Knowledge of ovens, lamination, adhesives, continuous web handling
- Continuous wide web processing; coating, drying, laminating, converting
- Chemical processing to support silicone and adhesive coating

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
- Significant people management experience, including management of multiple functions
- Continuous process manufacturing management, and either operations or logistics management
- Leading large-scale change to achieve significant business improvement
- Significant involvement in customer interactions
- B.S. Degree in Technical Discipline

Advantage
- Site management experience
- Pressure sensitive, coating/laminating adhesives, roll converting and printing
- Commercial experience, or experience of another function outside of operations
- Managerial role in start-up, shut-down, major expansion or significant product change
- Experience in vendor negotiations
- Experience in multi-site
- Spanish as a second language

-Translate customer requirements into plant/site goals
- Ensure products can be manufactured to meet customer requirements
- Drive radical improvements in productivity, operational effectiveness, service responsiveness and reliability
- Drive improvements in process and technology
- Establish quality systems to ensure product quality and delivery performance meet customer requirements
- Implement best-in-class operations practice, and drive internal process to best-in-class levels
- Focus and align the Site organization to meet Site goals
- Continuously improve safety
- Meet or exceed all financial and operation goals
- Establish KPI?s and track daily, weekly, monthly
- Maintain an effective employee relations climate
- Ensure workforce is capable of meeting financial and operational objectives
- Build leadership talent
- Maintain effective links to the customer, vendors and the overall organization
- Develop and maintain community relationships
