Job Summary/Core Responsibilities
Lead the daily operations and ongoing projects related to the Engineering and Maintenance Department; mentor, develop and train staff on skills related to overall hotel maintenance
Reports to and collaborates with the Hotel General Manager in managing budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance and energy conservation as well as department productivity and payroll
Responsible for managing the department staff in maintaining the building and grounds with particular attention towards OSHA compliance, safety, security and asset protection
Assigns, tracks and follows up on status of work assigned to staff, and contractors as needed, including preventive maintenance
Strives to increase guest and associate satisfaction through effective communications and training
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED; 3+ years of experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area in a lead or supervisory/management role; technical training in HVAC-R, CPO Certification, basic electrical, plumbing.
OR
2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 1 year experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing; in a lead or supervisory/management role for at least 2 years.
Hotel, or similar work place environment (hospital, nursing home, university, etc.), experience preferred.
Providing Exceptional Guest Service
Handles guest problems and complaints effectively.
Empowers associates to provide excellent guest service.
Displays leadership in guest hospitality by exemplifying excellent guest service and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
Additional Responsibilities and Requirements:
Must pass the Criminal Background Check
On-call for Hotel emergencies, call-outs and additional support for Operations
May assist other Company properties with Engineering and Maintenance duties and responsibilities
