Craig?s Doors is an Amherst-area nonprofit that provides shelter, food, and services to individuals who are homeless. We recognize that providing nutritious, well-balanced, hot meals on a regular basis is vital to both the physical and mental well-being of our guests.
We are seeking an experienced individual to manage our shelter?s kitchen and food service. Duties include interviewing, training, and supervising staff, maintaining a kitchen that is clean, sanitary, and safe and that complies with all local, state, and food safety regulations, preparing and serving meals to our guests, ordering from the local food bank and other entities, as well as occasional shopping at local groceries, coordinating food recovery efforts with local campuses and businesses, and preparing menus.
Candidates with experience and interest in culinary arts and in food service and/or restaurant management, as well as an interest in working with disadvantaged populations are particularly encouraged to apply.
Current ServSafe certification at the manager level preferred, as well as commercial food service and/or restaurant experience.
Applicants must be reliable and available to work some evening hours and weekends as necessary. Depending on experience and need, this is a half- to full-time position.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $24.00 per hour
