JOB SUMMARY
The Full Charge Bookkeeper reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The Full Charge Bookkeeper prepares the museum?s bi-weekly payroll and ongoing monthly journal entries, records all capital assets, runs the monthly depreciation process, and reconciles gifts and pledges receivable. The Full Charge Bookkeeper prepares materials to assist with the preparation of the Form 990 and 990 T, financial statements, and other reports. (Estimated starting salary range $45,000-50,000).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll
Conducts the new hire process for all employees
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources records including insurance, workers compensation, and retirement plans
Processes the Museum?s payroll (currently outsourced)
Ensures the accuracy of vacation, sick and pension accruals
Reconciles quarterly and annual tax reporting and W-2s
Financial Reporting
Records weekly, monthly, and annual journal entries
Prepares schedules and assists the CFO with the annual audit, financial statements, Form 990 and 990T, Mass Form PC
Calculates and records accruals and inter-company charges
Records all capital assets and monthly depreciation entries
Reconciles gifts and pledges receivable
Prepares bank and other account reconciliations
Other
Other duties and projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor?s degree in accounting
Minimum of five years of accounting experience (non-profit experience, a plus)
Thorough understanding of federal and state payroll regulations
Strong attention to detail
Commitment to customer service and diplomacy; including strong interpersonal skills
Possesses integrity, ethics and respect for confidentiality
Proficiency with using software including database, electronics and Microsoft products
Able to work in a team environment, as well as individually
Demonstrated ability to multi-task several assignments at the same time
