Description
The Veterans' Home in Holyoke is seeking an engaging and passionate individual to be a skilled support member of our Admissions Department. The selected candidate will play a vital role in coordinating the Home's admissions program, including communications with potential veterans residents and their loved ones, all while promoting and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
Communicate effectively with veterans, families, caregivers, and staff both face-to-face, over the telephone, and via email.
Answer incoming calls and forward or refer to appropriate staff member.
Triage veteran/family telephone calls to clinical staff.
Maintain confidentiality of all veteran information.
Complete routine reports, maintain master calendar and spreadsheets, and complete new assignments in a timely manner.
Monitor and assist in entering data into the appropriate tracking systems.
Assist in the process of putting together medical records or other packets, filing records, and monitoring supply inventory as needed.
Maintain admissions waitlist data and communicate status updates to veterans, families, and community partners as requested.
Initiate and/or update veteran?s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) as required.
Schedule:
This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Note: This is 24 hour/7 days a week long-term care facility and as a result, the Veterans' Home in Holyoke may require this individual to be present during nontraditional hours when circumstances dictate the operational need.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to assist individuals of diverse backgrounds.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to make recommendations.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Knowledge of software applications such as desktop publishing, project management, spreadsheets and database management.
Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in long-term care environment.
Personable and professional in dealing with visitors, staff, and veteran residents.
Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with others.
Skilled in the use of using a computer
Salary: 54,167.36 - 76,636.30 Yearly
