Purchasing Agent

Westfield Electroplating Company is looking for an experienced purchasing agent. This candidate must be very detail oriented, sharp and have ability to work in a very fast paced environment. WEPCO's ideal candidate will need to be cost conscientious, have a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities will include; coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, chemicals and other supplies.

Tasks:

Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.

Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.

Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.

Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.

Interview vendors and learn about products, services and prices.

Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance, and inventories.
