The EHS Specialist provides technical EH&S support to all levels of personnel at the facility to implement, train, and maintain all required environmental, health, and safety programs; coordinates related training programs for employees and outside contracted services; maintains overall Environmental Management System (EMS) to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and conformance to the ISO 14001 standard; and develops, implements, maintains and administers overall facility security programs.

Understand Federal, State, and local EHS regulations, (OSHA, MA Dept. of Public Safety, EPA, and MA DEP.
Complete OSHA required administrative recordkeeping of all recordable workplace accidents to maintain regulatory compliance.
Monitor lost time injuries and illnesses and Worker?s Compensation Claims.
Facilitate workplace safety incidents reporting, and lead team approach of accident investigation. Develop, assign, and track corrective action requests regarding workplace accidents.
Maintain monthly safety metrics that the division uses to measure overall performance of the safety program.
Support the ongoing activities related to the internal Quarterly Safety Audit Check.
Promote EHS awareness through internal correspondence, specific training programs, and company communication boards.
Support facility personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain health and safety programs, policies, and procedures that are developed by corporate consultant, provide training as necessary for all employees.
Serve as a member of the Safety Steering Committee.
Participate in new product or process reviews for risk assessment and develop proper operating training.
Management Representative to maintain conformance of the Environmental Management System (EMS) to the ISO 14001 standard.
Facilitate needed revisions to the EMS after audits or regulatory changes.
Advise facility of regulatory changes that would apply to the facility through regular compliance reviews. Provide sufficient notice to assure proper compliance by the effective date of new regulations.
Maintain and improve overall facility security program, to provide a safe workplace for all employees, and to control of vendors and contractors as they perform their services.
Oversee the selection and ongoing service of third party security service for off-shift protection.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or in a Health and Science discipline required
2- 3 years of related work experience with in-depth knowledge of environmental, safety, occupational health policies, practices, procedures and laws and a broad understanding of EHS principles applicable to operation of the business in the manufacturing environment.
