Energy Home Auditor
Full Time - 8 Shift
Position Summary:
The Energy Auditor is in the Weatherization department of Springfield Partners for Community Action. This position is responsible for performing residential weatherization audits for low-income households and educating customers on energy efficiency. Auditors will work directly with clients and contractors ultimately performing quality control inspections on completed jobs.
Responsibilities:
Perform residential energy audits in compliance with funding contracts and regulatory requirements.
Develop detailed cost estimates, work scopes, measures, and quantities to be installed
Inspect and monitor in-progress projects, and perform final inspections to ensure quality control standards.
Perform minor energy conservation installations (bulbs, etc.).
Maintain accurate and organized job folders including a formal write-up of home energy audit findings.
Educate consumers and clients regarding energy conservation measures.
Accept other duties as assigned by the Weatherization Director.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma required, Associate's Degree preferred.
A minimum of one (1) year of construction/trade, knowledge of Energy Conservation (insulation techniques, venting schemes, etc.).
Non-profit experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have worked with low-income families, in a diverse community.
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
Possession of a valid driver's license required and reliable transportation.
Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
BPI Energy Auditor certification a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general reference periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to write reports and correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of department heads and managers, customers, and members of the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to calculate interest and percentages.
Ability to draw and interpret graphs.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, area, circumference, and volume.
