Technical Buyer
Your challenges
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development, implementation, management, and performance of sourcing strategies within a given commodity, to meet business goals and objectives.
Manages the assessment, selection, and development of strategic suppliers to meet commodity cost and performance goals.
Managing supplier relationships, performing root cause analysis and resolutions, developing and monitoring supplier improvement plans
Coordinate with Senior Buyers and R&D in applying the overarching procurement strategy
Identify and implement optimization levers, as well as regular updates on the progress of the measures
Coordination, implementation, and evaluation of supplier quotations
Qualifying, developing, and consolidating suppliers
Continuous review of the innovation portfolio of strategic suppliers to support R&D and Series Production pars
Conduct annual business reviews and contract management
Responsible for and conducting supplier negotiations, evaluations, and audits in alignment with local and corporate standards
Traveling globally to strategic supplier locations
Generating first article purchase orders and following through to Engineering Change order closure
Coordinate with Senior Buyers and Planning department to establish scrap cost for changes that are implementing new series part numbers considered to be non-backward forward compatible.
Ensure timely delivery of all first article and samples for R&D projects and Engineering Change orders
Participation in the Engineering Change Order process utilizing Corporate and Local Standards
Coordinate globally with Senior Buyers to assist with problematic suppliers and establishing effectivity dates for new revisions or part numbers added to the ERP system
Coordinate with Quality to evaluate nonconforming suppliers and establish measures for improvement
Evaluation and review of transportation mode to meet business goal in reduction in transportation cost
Provide technical mechanical manufacturing experience and process guidance to Engineering, Suppliers, Sr. Buyers and Quality to ensure Quality Standards and cost control are met
Process discrepancies in invoices with respect to pricing
Your expertise
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Technical/Engineering field or related discipline and four (4) to six (6) years' experience in a production environment, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
In-depth experience in international procurement / supply chain management and logistics
Experience in BPE and ASME standards related to Bioreactor Technology in the Bioprocess Industry
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
SAP, LN-Infor ERP, MRP experience a plus
Professional competence, special knowledge (e.g. languages, IT)
