Rate of Pay:    $29.52 - $38.75

DEFINITION
Position is responsible for overseeing and performing technical work in connection with the analysis, design, implementation, administration and support of database and software applications in the City, as well as performing archival and network administration duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinates, secures and backs up data from all City departments.
Administers servers, including initial setup of servers and related SQL databases, for multiple software programs, including but not limited to laserfiche, real estate appraisal software, licensing and permitting software, security software, WSUS (server update services), and work order systems, software or applications.
Oversees DMZ (subnetworks) for laserfiche and work order systems, software or applications; oversees Drobo external storage drives.
Maintains and updates City's enterprise virus protection.
Maintains City's email system, including managing server and security for system.
Maintains and supports City's enterprise printers, copiers and fax machines.
Implements, coordinates and supports the City's online licensing, permitting, asset tracking and work order systems.
Maintains and provides user support for all aspects of City's website and online presence.
Coordinates and maintains City's laserfiche archival and public portal software and database; trains users to scan and archive paper files.
Supports users in Active Directory directory service, including establishing and modifying permissions and roles.
Performs software, hardware and system upgrades and updates.
Performs similar or related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications -
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, IT, or a related technical field and at least three to four years of municipal database and software development and implementation experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

Knowledge, Ability, and Skills: -
Knowledge: Knowledge of municipal software systems; knowledge of client-server and PC-based systems; knowledge of relational database models; knowledge of MySQL and MS access. Knowledge of current versions of Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Abilities: Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and problem solve complex databases and information systems; ability to learn and support new systems; ability to manage several projects simultaneously and in a timely manner. Ability to learn MS SQL-Server installation, configuration and support.

Skills: Organizational skills; customer service skills; verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
PHYSICAL, MOTOR, AND VISUAL SKILLS:

Physical Skills:

The work involves physical skills typical of an office environment, including sitting, standing, walking and stooping.  May be required to lift objects such as files, boxes of papers, office supplies, and office equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.

Motor Skills:

The work may require motor skills for activities such as moving objects, using office equipment, including but not limited to telephones, personal computers, handheld technology, and other office equipment.

Visual Skills:

Essential position functions require the ability to view computer screens for extended periods of time. In addition, essential position functions require good close/distant, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This is a Full-Time 40 hour per week position.

All Benefits consistent with other Non-Represented employees. This is not an entry-level position.

Hourly Rate Range: $29.52-$38.75
