POSITION: Internal Research and Evaluation Specialist
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Research and Evaluation
PURPOSE: The Internal Research and Evaluation Specialist will provide professional and high-quality evaluation design, management, implementation, and analysis services to internal clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
In collaboration with CES administrators, establish annual priorities for internal evaluation
Embed principles of equity and social justice in evaluation to support critical thinking and action to address historical relationships of power
Plan and manage all aspects of program evaluations, including methods design, data collection, data analysis, and reporting
Work with program managers to develop program logic
Facilitate project-based teams: develop work plans, assign responsibilities, and meet deadlines
Provide technical assistance to assist in clarifying project goals, objectives, and outcomes; refining data collection systems; and using data
Develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods and instruments
Manage structured and rigorous analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
Summarize findings in written reports and presentations
Conduct needs assessments to support proposals and program planning
Develop competencies to apply CES's social justice and equity principles in daily work
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Evaluation or designee
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years experience in program evaluation, including internal evaluation and project management, with at least 2 years working with public education programs (other relevant education, work, or life experience may be substituted)
Advanced degree in social sciences, education, or other relevant field with coursework in research methods, or equivalent professional experience or certification (other relevant education, work, or life experience may be substituted)
Qualitative and quantitative research skills, including design, implementation, and data analysis
Experience with utilization-focused evaluation and evaluation for equity
Highly skilled in working collaboratively with evaluation and program staff from culturally diverse backgrounds
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
Experience working or living in underserved communities
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation design skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize work
Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following educational areas; K-12 education, early childhood, youth development, special education, and professional development
Proficient in MS Office products, Google, and data analysis software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD or EdD in Social Sciences, Education, or other relevant field (may substitute for 2 years experience)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Able to remain seated and to use hands for long periods of time
Able to view and work with details on a computer screen for long periods of time
WORK CONDITIONS:
Requires working a flexible schedule that may include evening meetings
Regional travel required
Ability to handle interruptions and maintain productivity
Ability to work with diverse personalities
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Part time, year-round position; 20 hours/week, Monday ? Friday (benefit eligible)
Salary range: $32,000 - $40,000
Additional hours may be available based on project needs
