Job Description

Position Summary
Seeking a highly motivated and sharp shipping clerk to to join our team in our Holyoke location.
The responsibility of this position is to ensure that all aspects of the inventory and shipping of
Hazen goods are completed to meet the standards set by management and to the expectations of
Hazen?s customers. The night shift shipping clerk will be responsible for shipping in all Hazen
plants as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Planning - Understand the machine schedule and know what and when orders are finishing in the
plant. Communicate with Customer Service to prepare for shipments to meet customer?s
Call in trucks as required to meet the planned shipping dates. Communicate with Customer
Service the dates of pickups and deliveries and cost of each shipment. Quickly raise a red flag to
Customer Service and management if there are any problems with shipments.
Print shipping labels using CIS and Vision to meet customer?s specifications. Make sure
additional labels specified by Hazen management are available and are properly affixed to items
being shipped.
Make sure accurate documentation is accurately prepared for each shipment. STOP and question
documentation that does not match properly.
Check shipment to ensure that it is shipping complete. Make sure truck is clean and free of
debris, odor, leaks and floor damage prior to truck loading. Make sure the proper type of truck is
being loaded (reefer if requested, team if requested, container if requested, dedicated truck if
requested, LTL if requested). Do not allow the loading of soft sided trucks. Make sure all items
are loaded on the truck. Make sure load is properly secure in the truck to prevent damage during
shipping. Seal containers if international shipment.
Complete a shipping log and circulate to Sales, Customer Service and Hazen management.
Maintain an inventory of materials needed in shipping and shipping offices.
Perform regular cycle counts and inventory checks to ensure the accuracy of warehouse
inventory including but not limited to WIP, raw materials, finished goods and shipping materials.
Fill in strapping and wrapping skids and skid labelling if needed.
Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
Education and Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
At least 1 year of shipping experience required
Other Requirements
Over time is mandatory
Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, including marijuana.
