Die Repairer
Chicopee, MA

We are looking for a 3rd shift Die Repairer to work for a company in Chicopee on a temp to hire basis. Pay is $23.12 to start (with a $1.50 shift differential).

General Duties:
Maintain accurate relationships, fittings, and interchangeability of parts to close tolerances.

Disassemble and repair or alter tooling to meet specific requirements. Remove removable sections, fit, assemble, and adjust component parts and mechanisms to the required accuracy to ensure satisfactory results.

Maintain tooling, supplies, gauges, and precision measuring instruments for Chain, Fabrication, and Assembly departments in Tool Control Department as required.

Work involves a variety of exacting bench operations on carbide and regular steel parts, requiring skill and knowledge of mechanisms and the ability to use a wide variety of precision measuring tools.

Refer to parts for dimensional requirements. Possess a basic knowledge and ability to set up and operate surface grinders and drill presses.

Make correct decisions as to fits, finishes, and assembly sequence.

Primary responsibility is carbide tooling, although scope of position involves any and all work required or assigned to ensure that a smooth flow of production is maintained.

Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow standard safety regulations.

Detect faulty operation or defective material and report these and other unusual conditions to the supervisor. Perform other similar and associated duties as required or directed.

Required Skills include:

Must be a self starter and follow direction from supervisor
1-2 years of manufacturing experience
Strong mechanical aptitude
2-5 Years of experience running multiple machines and performing preventative maintenance.
Basic Computer Skills.
