Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the Materials Coordinator will support materials movement and processes throughout the manufacturing site. The qualified candidate must have strong initiative and be able to organize, prioritize, and follow through on everyday tasks while working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates need to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills in their daily activities.
Job Description
Perform all work in a safe manner following all safety policies, processes, and procedures
Work closely with manufacturing, customer service, and the materials manager to resolve all issues
Create purchase order requisitions and obtain approvals
Complete transactions in SAP and ERP
Effectively communicate with internal and external customers, staff, and management
Coordinate between operations, customer service, external and suppliers
Participates in team projects for continuous improvement, Inventory accuracy improvements, 5s organization and other plant initiatives
Maintain cycle count program, including monitoring performance and reporting on accuracy trends
Perform month end closing reports
Coordinate schedule changes and expedites, as required
Managing the purchasing of raw material & production supplies to support production plan.
Continuously monitor and manage usage, on-hand inventory levels to include work-in-progress inventory and finished goods inventory levels as well as projects deliveries to insure the timely filling orders and the maintenance of safety stock. Reports discrepancies and initiates corrective actions as needed.
Maintains accuracy in the raw material backorder lists and sees that proper reaction to shortage is made on a timely basis
Monitor slow-moving inventory, identify distressed inventory, and make recommendations.
Identify and support or lead cost saving projects
Perform other duties as requested or assigned
Review customer forecasts with raw material inventory
The understanding of consignment, floor stock, and vendor managed inventory
Qualifications
Associate Degree
3+ years' experience in a variety of computer-based systems and programs including Microsoft Office and Outlook, ERP (Visual a plus), PowerPoint and Excel required
Demonstrated written and verbal skills
Problem solving skills with the ability to think quickly and effectively resolve issues
The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Highly organized and ability to multi-task in a busy setting.
Flexibility to work required hours to complete tasks and special projects
Must be able to work as a team player, under production pressure with changing priorities
Ensure good working relationships with key suppliers
