New Products Estimator

The New Products Estimator is primarily responsible for ensuring competitiveness for new projects. Individual works closely with the other New Products team members, Sales, Quality and Engineering to win business and launch projects efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description - other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.
Negotiate supplier pricing and lead-times based on reviewing drawings/specifications.
Develop project/part cost structures with accurate cost models and competitive supply chain recommendations.
Develop inter-company pricing and manage inter-company requests.
Track and provide accurate material fluctuation effects.
Lead tooling reconciliations.
Support prototype projects.
Support continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives throughout supply chain.
Conduct miscellaneous cost studies/reconciliations, continuous improvement activities, and support various department activities.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience with determining manufacturing costs by evaluating manufacturing processes, equipment, and material costs preferred.
Able to travel in and outside of US.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and speaking skills required.
Analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Attention to detail required.
Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks concurrently required.
Understanding of accounting principles and/or activity-based costing required.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills required: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word.
Ability to interpret blueprints preferred.
Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
